In 2004 armani release a great cologne named armani BLACK CODE. As the bottle shown above is depicting. This cologne was renamed and changed (reformulated) to be much milder and lost its distinctive peppery smell. Do not confuse the two, they are not the same. See the description of the two colognes below. I attempted to spray the "code" that I received from amazon today after ordering the "black code" to see if they were indeed the same. The "black code" on my right arm is much stronger and makes me sneeze when I put it on but lasts a lot longer and blends well with my skin, It smells a little peppery/leathery and is very masculine. I can still smell it after washing my arm 6 hours later. The code faded quite quickly (an hour) and was in general much much milder in odor than the "black code" fragrance. While black code was discontinues many black code users may be disappointed to try the newer cologne as it really is not the same. I don't blame amazon for the switch as Armani brands them the same but it is clear to anyone who smells the two that they are very different.
